One-on-One Care: Limiting Exposure

One-on-one care continues to grow as a popular option for those needing everyday living services. Individuals receiving care at home from a personal caregiver benefit in a multitude of ways and, as risk for serious complications from the novel strain COVID-19 is highest for older adults and those with chronic diseases, limiting exposure to the masses isn’t a bad idea. Quarantines have been put into place for nursing homes and assisted living communities as residents there are categorically most vulnerable for experiencing significant health issues. Families, visitors and even personal caregivers who may be offering supplemental care are not being permitted. Still, with some facilities hosting many residents along with a staff of care professionals who must be able to come and go, risk for infection can be higher with or without the threat of a new virus.

Here at Aqua Home Care, we refer trusted in-home caregivers who are able to meet the needs of their clients right in the comfort of their client’s home. With this type of one-on-one care, limiting exposure is made easier. Services that promote good health and wellness are available that aid in the decreased risk viral infection. Such services include:

  • Heavy housecleaning – disinfecting surfaces, laundering and changing linens, washing dishes, mopping, etc.
  • Medication reminders
  • Personal hygiene care – washing hands, showering/bathing, grooming, etc.
  • Transportation – doctor’s appointments, pharmacy, etc.
  • Companionship and supervision – at home or while out and about where assistance and monitoring for health and safety concerns would be beneficial
  • And more

At this time, there is still more to be learned about the novel strain COVID-19. With limited testing available and with serious complications affecting older adults and those with chronic diseases, limiting exposure is recommended. One-on-one care makes this possible while still allowing for daily living support. Here at Aqua Home Care, we are taking precautions and staying informed. If you have any questions regarding in-home care services for you or for a loved one, please do not hesitate to call. We are here and available to answer your questions during this time and always.
